Motorcycle video: MV Agusta releases its new F4 RC Superbike
Mentioned last fall during the press launch of the Brutale and Dragster RR, the MV Agusta F4 RC appears today: as expected, it is the road version of the Superbike entered in WSBK in the hands of Leon Camier ! Presentation.
MV Agusta presents its road Superbike
We know that in order to be able to enter a machine in a World Superbike, the manufacturers must respect strict rules. First of all, a road version must be marketed in Europe, the United States or Japan: this is the very essence of this world championship, which differs from MotoGP and its prototypes….
Then, according to article 1.2.1 a) i) of the 2015 WSBK regulations, the sale price of this motorcycle must not exceed € 40,000 (€ 33,000 for a Superstock 1000, € 20,000 for Supersport and Superstock 600), in order to limit the arms race.
Finally, production quotas are precisely established: 125 motorcycles must be built at the time of the inspection of FIM officials, 250 at the end of the year and 1000 at the end of the following year. Without it, impossible to compete…
Admittedly, at the start of last season, Bimota officials had found a way to run their BB3s … But the exemption granted to the Rimini plant did not allow it to appear on the results sheets – Badovini and Iddon did not score points – and only lasted for a while (read again).
On the Varese side, the situation is much clearer and more sustainable: the (top!) MV Agusta model entered this year in World Superbike is duly approved and its road version called F4 RC – for Reparto Corse, or "racing department" – mentioned last fall is now available for sale (read).
To mark the occasion, MV Agusta published on his official YouTube channel a small promotional film featuring his racing / road beast, his and of course, his "gossebo" pilot Leon Camier !
In 70 seconds – much less time than it takes for the official n ° 2 to complete a tour of Phillip Island where some shots were taken! -, the essential is said…
Maximum engine speed increased to 13,600 rpm, weight savings of 1.97 kg thanks to the carbon fairing, 1.15 kg via the use of titanium and 487 g on the crankshaft, 250 units produced, 212 horsepower and 175 kg dry in "race mode" (205 hp and 181 kg in "road mode"), 11 parts in magnesium. All this to make you the n ° 1 … in your neighborhood !
F4 RC: 212 hp, 175 kg, € 36,900 and 5 units in France
However, in this video and on the classy photos of the official MV Agusta website (see page 2), the F4 RC is numbered 37 … MNC readers – who, as everyone knows, have a little more memory long live the others – and aficionados of the brand will naturally have spotted the nod to the 37 "constructor" world titles acquired by MV Agusta during its history !
This number, the big boss Giovanni Castiglioni intends to replace it by a 38 as soon as possible, thanks to our "Julo" Cluzel who is racing for the second consecutive year in the Supersport category with the little sister of the F4, the F3 675 (read)…
May the future customers of the F4 RC be reassured: they can put the number of their choice on their MV Agusta! But beware, "we have 5 copies for France", warns Neil Webster, responsible for the Italian brand in France..
And even at 36 900 € the unit, it is a safe bet that these five motorcycles will not stay long in dealership … While waiting to go admire them "for real" or go to receive them – lucky guys -, curious and interested bikers can visit the .
They will find out – in French! – all the secrets of the F4 RC: the engine components in magnesium, the material of its screws and bolts – no, it’s not even aluminum! -, the references of Ohlins suspensions and Brembo brakes, the specific battery model (Li-Po), etc..
Each copy comes with a "complete circuit control kit"- the famous" race mode "of the video – which mainly comprises a complete Termigoni line in titanium with thermal protection in carbon fiber and a dedicated control box.
A quick-release tank cap is also part of the equipment, as is the carbon fiber rear seat cowl, the personalized motorcycle cover and even anodized red Ergal covers to be installed after removing the two mirrors! And for the dexterity of Camier or Cluzel, we sign where ?!
