Harley-Davidson is launching three new models that will be unveiled during the "Passion Days" organized on March 14 and 15: the Sportster SuperLow 1200T and the Dyna Street Bob Special Edition and Low Rider. Details review.

The saddle designed for the duo rises to 702 mm at the level of the rider seat.

Advertised for 271.62 kg in running condition, the SuperLow 1200T also receives ABS and the keyless start system, as well as new instrumentation including a digital tachometer.

The new Harley-Davidson SuperLow 1200T will be offered in Vivid black at € 12,290, in Candy Orange at € 12,490 and in two-tone at € 12,790.

Harley-Davidson Street Bob Special Edition

This special edition of the Street Bob includes in particular a double saddle "Badlander", a flat handlebars and forward controls as well as a truncated rear shell and a 17.8 liter fuel tank stuck in the Fat Bob.

Several other cosmetic touches complete its transformation: two-tone red and silver paint, black rims with split spokes and black tint of the triple trees, engine and battery cover..

The engine uses the air-cooled Twin Cam 103 of 76 hp and 134 Nm, which is one horsepower and 10 Nm more than the Twin Cam 96. Coupled as desired, this twin-cylinder coupled to a six-speed gearbox has the task of moving the 307 kg in running order of this imposing Bobber exceeding 1630 mm of wheelbase !

The price of this Street Bob Special Edition FXDBB is set at 14 890 € TTC (single price, ABS as standard).

Harley-Davidson Low Rider

Created in 1977, the Low Rider model had disappeared from the Harley catalog five years ago. Convinced of its qualities, the Milwaukee manufacturer is reintroducing it into its range by providing it with a whole series of improvements aimed particularly at ergonomics and comfort..

"We started by taking into account the comments of pilots of all sizes and launched computer simulations of postures and positions in the saddle to determine the ideal position of the controls", explains Paul Weiss, chief engineer of the project..

“Computer generated triangles, representing the maximum dimensions of our biometric targets, were extrapolated to develop the ergonomics of the chassis of this Dyna model. These triangles described not only the ideal position for each rider, but also the critical comfort zones. for each subject considered ".

At this point, H-D quickly realized that it was practically impossible to satisfy everyone in terms of ergonomics, unless we got around the problem through some modularity. Located at only 680mm high, the Low Rider saddle can therefore move in two positions (plus or minus 38mm on the horizontal axis).

Harley does a bit of "Chat" to the bikers

As the photo above underlines, Harley-Davidson does not hesitate to "feminize" its image through its promotional materials. The approach is not new for the American manufacturer, who wishes to take up the challenge of continuing to seduce die-hard bikers but also bikers..

This marketing strategy, at first glance risky, is potentially interesting from a commercial point of view since more and more women are on the handlebars. However, for H-D as for all other manufacturers, it is juicier to sell two motorcycles to the same torque than one with a comfort passenger seat or a backrest. !

The latest example of this desire to extend the "biker mix": the French subsidiary has joined forces with the excellent women’s magazine Causette as part of the. This event consists of evenings organized by the Causette team, during which readers can also discover the world of Harley and his motorcycles via the "Jump Start" simulator..

The handlebars are also adjustable by 61 mm, while the footrests (fixed) are advanced by 5 cm compared to the previous model.

In terms of engine, this "new" Low Rider receives the Twin Cam 103 of 1690 cc (75 hp and 126 Nm of torque), while its 4-piston calipers at the front are supported by ABS to stop the 302 kg in running order of the motorcycle.

The price list for this 2014 Harley-Davidson Low Rider starts at 15,690 euros and goes up to 16,390 euros with the two-tone paint option. Included in this price list is the handy H-D Smart Security System keyless start, which is standard on virtually all Harley-Davidson motorcycles..
