To do this, the youngest of the Fireblade acquires an entirely new fairing, whose lines are directly inspired by those of the CBR600 and 1000, but also those of the sculptural VFR1200 … The resemblance to the Sport GT is also accentuated by the presence of a simple front optic in the form, not of X, but of Y.

The tank gains both presence and capacity: while the puny 2010 CBR carried 10 liters of fuel, its stockier 2011 replacement will carry three more! Autonomy should thus increase considerably, especially since "the injection settings and the final transmission ratio have also been changed compared to the previous vintage".

The Reds also took the opportunity to make their mini sports car more environmentally friendly, by equipping it with a new stainless steel exhaust " with oxygen sensor and tri-metallic catalytic cartridge that limits emissions of hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon monoxide".

At the same time, the new CBR125R wants to be more sympathetic towards the mechanics since its "fuel filter is now placed outside the fuel tank for better accessibility"… Winning on all fronts the CBR125R therefore ?

Unfortunately no … The kids addicted to performance will regret slight drops in the maximum values ​​displayed on the technical sheet – the very one that serves to prove that his bike is better than that of the friend…

Thus in battle, the power of the CBR125R goes from 13.6 to 12.7 horsepower and its torque drops from 10.8 to 10.1 Nm. On these points, the new Honda must bow to the Yamaha ( its 4 valves, its 15 hp and 12.2 Nm) … Will it be the same on the road or even on the track ?

Cycle part level, the cousin of the RCV evolves very slightly. We note all the same that it adopts wider tires: now 100 / 80-17 at the front and 130 / 70-17 at the rear. But this is not without consequence…

Between the changes of tires, trim and pot, the weight gain of the machine reached 9.6 kg, so that the scale now indicates (all full) 136.9 kg. Phew, it’s 1.1 kg below the little Yam ‘ !

Finally, the position promises to be a little sportier since the saddle height climbs from 776 mm in 2010 to 793 mm in 2011. The suspensions, on the other hand, will offer slightly greater travel than those of last year (120 mm to the ‘front and 126 mm at the rear, against 109 and 120) … So, more sporty or more comfortable this new CBR125R ?
