Triumph has just unveiled its first novelty for 2013, the long-awaited new Trophy 1200 (read MNC of 23 November 2010: the return of the Triumph Trophy?). While waiting for its full presentation, here are the first info and live photos of the Triumph Tridays gathering in Neukirchen (Austria).

Triumph has just unveiled its first novelty for 2013, the long-awaited new Trophy 1200 (read). While waiting for its full presentation, here are the first info and live photos of the rally (Austria).

The Hinckley firm has indeed taken advantage of its 2012 Tridays to present to journalists, then to the public, its first novelty of 2013. Even before the veil was lifted by the brand’s managers, the model was already recognized: given the size, it could only be a road bike !

Fans of 675 – who may have seen pictures of a new version in preparation lying around – will therefore have to wait a little longer … At least until, when a second new Triumph product will be unveiled !

Disappeared from the catalog in 2004, the Triumph Trophy 1200 is therefore reborn from its ashes … "It was one, if not the motorcycle that aroused the most expectation and demand from our customers", clutches Simon Warburton, presented as the "guru" of products at Triumph.

Started five years ago, the Trophy project is based on the three essential points of the GT: "the comfort of the driver as that of the passenger, practical aspects and a high level of technology which has nothing to do with it. with gadgets, "Warburton tells us..

Responding strictly to the same specifications, it is not surprising that the Trophy looks like its competitors. Aesthetically, however, the English seem to have lacked a hint of inspiration: the rear part of the Trophy is very close to that of the R1200RT, while its front face – which loses its beautiful almond eyes in the process – is not not unlike that of Pan European.

2 versions: standard and SE

Fortunately, the Triumph touch remains quickly noticeable: the Trophy has a Triple engine – what else? -, and has "the rider-road connection specific to our motorcycles and spaced maintenance intervals", underlines the boss of the products.

The technical sheet of the new Triumph Trophy 2013 therefore shows maximum values very close to those of the 1200 Explorer on the engine side: 134 horsepower at 9000 rpm and 120 Nm at 6450 rpm. The only real difference between the two engines: the 6th gear is longer on the GT.

Despite its full 301 kg, the Trophy is supposed to be "stable, agile, precise and neutral" at the same time. Characteristics that the Site will be able to test when it is scheduled in September, i.e. one month before its arrival in .

The new Triumph 1200 Trophy will land in two different versions: a standard whose price is not yet fixed but which "will be aligned with the competition" as was the Explorer, ensures Triumph, and an SE version equipped with suspensions electronic system, a radio-mp3 system and tire pressure warning light. "The additional cost of the SE will be between 1500 and 2000 €", specifies Simon Warburton..

Both models will be fitted as standard with 31-liter side cases, an electric bubble, a watertight storage compartment with 12V socket and a second 12V socket. And for those whom the original endowment would not satisfy, it will obviously be possible to draw from a vast catalog of accessories.
