This is how retro scooter works

NMoto from the USA has a knack for retro renovation projects. With the Golden Age roller, a spectacular Art Deco-style model is coming in 2021.

NMoto already showed in 2018 with the Nostalgia Project, which transforms a BMW R nineT into a BMW R7, that they understand the custom craft. The Americans are now announcing another Art Deco style model for 2021. Again a BMW model serves as the technical basis and again there is a prominent role model.

Conversion to a BMW C 400 X base

The scooter model, simply called the Golden Age, is based on the Henderson Courtney Prototype presented in 1936. The one-off designed by O. Ray Courtney pairs an extremely bulky body with the technology of a Henderson KJ Streamline from 1930. NMoto takes up Courtney’s lines, but tucked the BMW C 400 X scooter under the sheet metal over 34 hp and 35 Nm from a 350 cm³ single cylinder. The BMW scooter manages 139 km / h at the top. With the Golden Age, however, the main focus is less on driving dynamics. What counts here is the look.

And that also reflects the BMW base. In front of the completely clad front wheel, NMoto puts the classic BMW kidney grille as a radiator grille. The Americans suggest drop-shaped fender flares on the left and right. The stern of the Golden Age is proportioned analogously. In between, the Golden Age beds its two passengers on a wide, quilted leather bench. A high windshield offers wind and weather protection. Small round headlights sit in front of and next to it.

Conversion kit comes in 2021

So far there are only renderings of the NMoto Golden Age. The first pictures of the real model should follow in spring 2021. The complete conversion kit will be offered later in the year. There are no prices yet.
