Emmanuel and his son made the trip to Paris from Merville, near Lille (59), to discover the new cars exhibited at the Mondial de l’Auto. Le Journal moto du Net met them on the BMW stand (in hall 5 reserved for cars), where the son discovers the operation of a transverse engine on the Nine T Racer !

"Basically we came to see the new cars, without knowing that there was a motorcycle hall. It’s a good surprise!", Reveals this former owner of Z1000 who is focused on sports motorcycles.

In front of our astonishment, Emmanuel specifies having "seen commercials for the Paris Motor Show on TV and on the radio, but nothing concerning motorcycles". Surprising? Yes and no: just watch the news channels to see that most of the reports on the opening of the Mondial do not mention the motorcycle at any time..

Under these conditions, a biker who would not read Site – and obviously there is, at least in the North! – can miss the Parisian event. This finding – a bit bitter – gives the promoter an avenue to explore in future editions, if this mixed format is retained..

Kawasaki goes all out

So delighted to be able to discover motorcycles in hall 3 (reserved for motorcycles and scooters), Emmanuel finds the Kawasaki stand "immense and very beautiful", indeed with its 1400 m2. Recall that the Japanese manufacturer has also cared for its customers by unveiling no less in Paris, the same day as in Cologne.

Our friendly "car" visitor also appreciated the Indian and its stand, as well as the KTM space while expressing his "regret at not seeing the new Super Duke" (only, Editor’s note). He is also a bit critical of Suzuki, of which he deplores the reduced size of the stand () and the questionable valuation of certain models..

"I have driven Suzuki for a long time so I appreciate and know this brand, but I do not understand why the news is so far behind on their stand, even though it is evolving this year", regrets Emmanuel.

At Suzuki, the star is indeed the, designed on the basis of the. A novelty which did not particularly thrill our "witness visitor", nor his son: both are skeptical of the particular physique of this motorcycle with the accents of the (?) Past (s) … "In general, I finds that retro is gaining in importance among all motorcycle manufacturers. It is clearly in fashion! ", he judges without really subscribing to this trend.

The choice of BMW

Before letting him set off again to walk the bays of the Parc des Expositions, MNC asked this average visitor, who initially came simply to "see the cars", what he thought of BMW’s choice not to be present at the Mondial de la Moto but only at the Paris Motor Show…

"It’s a bit of a shame, especially since they only display two motorcycles and an electric scooter next to their cars. Personally, I would have liked to be able to detail it, because a hell of a motorcycle!", Regrets t -he, before telling us to have views on the spectacular Kawasaki H2 and its compressed 4-cylinder !
