Quadro Big Q concept

Launched in Italy by Luciano Marabese in 2010 – and passed under the Swiss flag the following year – Quadro does not present new models but several rather interesting concepts. Unveiled at the Milan Motor Show, these advanced prototypes illustrate the determination of the "Italian-Swiss" brand to counter Piaggio in the 3-wheel scooter segment with the Quadro S, as well as to create a new category with its, first – and so far unique – 4-wheel scooter (who says better?).

The most important concept is precisely derived from the Quadro 4 and is called "Big Q". Halfway between scooter and all-terrain quad, this prototype is designed for adventure, an interesting market segment for the brand which wishes to develop its exports and reach professional users who have to travel on all types. of land.

Imposing, the Big Q is illustrated by an unprecedented electronic management of its kinematic complex of "HTS" suspensions and its mixed profile tires. The machine would carry a 630 cc single-cylinder engine and would benefit – in addition to its two-wheel drive with self-locking differential – from reverse gear.

Note the muffler integrated under the scooter – well exposed to off-road shocks … -, at the level of the axles of the rear wheels which are each driven by a chain (belt on the Quadro4). Engineers had to think hard to find the right chain line, as the front and rear axles tilt independently. !

Quadro e-concept

Right next to the "Big Q", Quadro presented in Milan a new version of its concept of 3-wheel electric scooter, resulting from the takeover of the Oxygen brand in 2013 and its expertise in professional electric vehicles..

Compact and equipped with futuristic lines, this e-concept with final belt transmission is the electric counterpart of the Quadro S with thermal engine.

Quadro accessories

New prototypes of original accessories were also presented on the Quadro stand, in particular a small trailer for the Quadro 4 and a clever swivel luggage rack.

This allows the transport of two suitcases that are placed side by side above the passenger seat. The whole swivels completely on its axis to free up space as a duo. An "Adventure" kit for Quadro 4, including protection bars, should also be offered..
