Other 2016 scooter novelties (Adiva, Govecs Tripl, Gogoro, MSA, IMF)

Other lesser-known manufacturers – even "exotic" – take advantage of the autumn shows to unveil their new 2016 scooters. Even if their models do not (yet?) Run the streets, some are not lacking in interest. Here is a non-exhaustive list…

Adiva

The Italo-Japanese brand – which currently manufactures in Taiwan – presented its 2016 models at Eicma in Milan, in particular the evolutions made to its original 3-wheel scooter AD3, whose particularity lies in the presence of a roof (read ).

These new vintages abandon their previous Kymco engines in favor of Peugeot. Now driven by the same engine as the Metropolis 400, the AD3 takes the opportunity to go from 300 to 400 cc with an increase in performance. It benefits from a new design of its rear end.

A 400 cc AD2 two-wheeler also appears in the range, with a new design that can also be found on the AD1 three-wheeler, available in 125 and 200 cc and powered by blocks from the Peugeot Citystar. Distribution in France remains entrusted to RMD Motors France, a subsidiary of the Moteo group.

Govecs TRIPL

The German brand Govecs – which recently bought the Vectrix production line in Wroclaw (Poland) – presented Eicma with a new – and strange … – three-wheeled electric vehicle, specially designed for deliveries in urban areas.

Created in collaboration with the Danish company Trefor – which markets it – the Tripl has a huge 750-liter lockable front trunk that accepts a payload of 200 kilos !

Equipped with an 8 kWh battery, the Tripl would have a range of 100 km and would expect a top speed of 45 km / h. Recharging would take place in 8 hours with a 1 kWh charger and in 4h30 with a fast charger.

The seat height is adjustable, which will undoubtedly make it easier to pilot this 1.26 m wide and 2.41 m long machine, weighing some 301 kg (with batteries)! In the same vein, the reverse gear included as standard appears as obvious on this "electric utility" intended for company fleets….

Gogoro

The Taiwanese company Gogoro presented to Eicma its electric scooters and its GoStation concept, battery storage and recharging points in the form of displays located at partners (department stores, for example) where empty batteries can be exchanged for recharged .

The Gogoro Plus, Gogoro and Gogoro Lite scooters are powered by two easily removable and transportable batteries via a large handle on the top. The objective being to facilitate the exchange in a GoStation, executable "in 6 seconds"according to the brand. Well integrated under the saddle, its lithium-ion batteries leave room for a real trunk on the rear.

The Gogoro Plus differs from the standard Gogoro by a wider choice of colors and some more qualitative accessories (adjustable shock absorber, smoked windshield, etc.). All are given for a maximum speed of "95 km / h and 100 km of autonomy at 40 km / h". When the optional" Super Boost "mode is activated, they would be able to go from 0 to 50 km / h in"4.4 seconds".

Started in June 2015 in Taipei with 32 GoStation, this self-service battery swap concept now includes 70 GoStation and aims for more than 150 points in greater Taipei by the end of the year. An experiment in Europe is planned for 2016 in Amsterdam (the Netherlands), before expanding to other cities.

MSA International

Gilber Jost, CEO of MSA International – formerly Kymco importer in France and for the Benelux – presented at Eicma several electric vehicles that he plans to market soon. We will notably remember the iTrike concept, which is distinguished by its tilting platform allowing you to drive sitting or standing..

Just press on either side of the platform to change direction and flatten the platform to go straight ahead. The machine literally folds up for easy storage.

Another interesting proposal, still in the form of prototypes, two models of three-wheeled electric scooters. Both are relatively compact and futuristic to say the least, with a two-wheeled Piaggio MP3 front axle..

MFI Ptio 125

The French company IMF Industries exhibited at Eicma the 125 cc version of its Ptio scooter, until now offered in 50 cc 2-stroke or 4-stroke. Like its younger brother, this 125 cc scooter will also be customizable via a configurator on the brand’s website..

It receives 12-inch wheels, which will also be available for the Ptio 50 in 2016. This Ptio 125 is powered by an injection-powered 4-stroke engine and has combined braking. Its base price should be around € 2,500.

Another version with 16-inch wheels is also planned for 2016. Remember that these scooters are assembled in France, but that the engines come from a Chinese supplier..
