Peugeot’s slim newcomer
Sport and fat accumulation – they don’t go together. But while people are jogging and the designers of sporty motorcycles are fighting for every gram, the sporty 50s scooters of all things have not only increased not only in terms of fine technology, but also in mass in recent years. An injected Aprilia SR 50 R Factory weighs 108 kilograms, while the Peugeot Jetforce 50 C-Tech with great suspension components in the bridge frame weighs 116 kilograms.
With the Ludix Blaster, Peugeot proves that there is another way. His recipe is short wheelbase, slim stature and doing without anything superfluous. The blaster has only a minimum of fairing, neither an LCD cockpit with a rev counter nor a rear spoiler. He doesn’t even have a helmet compartment. Instead, a water-cooled two-stroke carburettor with a capacity of around five horsepower, which hangs spontaneously on the gas and gives the 86-kilo lightweight together with a perfectly coordinated variator that it is a pleasure.
D.a the pleasure of being within the 45 km / h limit plays a central role in addition to the liveliness of the drive and the superb handling of the little one. The blaster zigzags around the corner on its ten-inch wheels, the wave brake in the front wheel decelerates the Peugeot effectively and with a defined pressure point if necessary. The shock absorber and mechanically damped upside-down fork are also great fun. The high seating position suits Lange, but the mirror arms are too short. If a pillion is to be included, the driver and passenger have to move closely together.
In addition to the blaster with ten-inch wheels, there is the black RS 12 with the same engine and twelve-inch models for 1799 euros; further variants have already been announced.
