A separate hall is dedicated to the Ape tricycles.

The museum was originally opened in March 2000 in Piaggio’s former production halls. After 18 years and around 600,000 visitors, it was time for a thorough renovation at the beginning of 2018. The exhibition area grew from 3,000 to 5,000 square meters and the number of exhibits rose to over 250. This makes the new Piaggio Museum the largest two-wheeled museum in Italy and one of the largest in Europe.

In the two new halls, which also preserve the charm of the former industrial plant, there is an extensive Ape collection and the racing history of the Aprilia brands, Moto Guzzi and Gilera housed together. 104 world championship titles across almost all racing series and classes are celebrated here.

In addition to the permanent exhibitions Vespa Collection, Vespa Racing, Piaggio Collection, Gilera Collection, Moto Guzzi Collection, Aprilia Collection and Artistic Collection will hold 340 square meters for temporary exhibitions.

Historical exhibits from the shipbuilding, aircraft and train construction divisions can also be seen.

The Piaggio Museum is located in the triangle between Pisa, Livorno and Florence and is open Tuesday to Saturday and on selected Sundays.
