Do expensive rain suits hold tight when the sky opens its floodgates? MOTORRAD has tested eleven copies between 60 and 80 euros.

Eight sets of dark ski underwear should be enough to detect leaks in the wetness test of eleven rain suits. But when things got down to business for the overcoats of the priced upper class between 60 and 80 euros under the fanned water jet of a garden hose, the procedure had to be interrupted after round nine
get dry underwear for the remaining two candidates.
After completing this mandatory rain simulation, everyone
eleven station wagons for five minutes each
had to (if water got in it was canceled before the time limit, see text in the box), hung nine underpants and
-shirts to dry on the line. Only the two most recently tested models from Axo and Spyke managed to keep the person sitting on a Honda CB 1300 in the typical driving position completely dry ?? truly a devastating result. With consequences: those rain suits that failed in the wetness test were devalued and in the best case could get a “conditionally recommendable” rating, even if they were otherwise completely convincing.
Some test persons also gave a disappointing performance during the driving tests on the undisguised Honda. So the one-piece suits from Cima, Germas were displeasing, Germot and Spyke with their poor fit, which is only satisfactory when standing upright. A cut that is too wide is also annoying, as is the case with MQP or Arlen Ness, who flutter strongly even at a moderate pace. In addition, the not tight enough closable collars of some suits or arm cuffs without width adjustment (MQP) are not very practical, because the airstream inevitably pushes them upwards. The best impression in terms of fit, wearing comfort, features and practicality ultimately made the one-piece suits that were not waterproof in the test hero and polo. Because of the right to exchange in the event of leaks, these suits may still be worth a try.
