The MV Agusta F3 will be launched in 2018 with Euro 4. The two model variants MV Agusta 675 F3 RC and MV Agusta F3 800 RC have been revised accordingly by the Italian manufacturer and are offered in limited numbers.

After MV Agusta had problems last year with bringing new bikes onto the market that meet the Euro 4 standard, the manufacturer has now introduced new versions of the F3 RC. Both model variants, the MV Agusta F3 675 RC and the M.V Agusta F3 800 RC, have been revised and now both meet the stricter Euro 4 standard. The two new RC models can also look forward to numerous technical updates.

In order to meet the Euro 4 standard, a new exhaust was developed, among other things. In order to meet the emission requirements, however, the sound had to be defused. According to the manufacturer, the new F3 is 48% quieter than the Euro 3 model. However, the new exhaust is also responsible for the fact that the two new F3 models offer plenty of power despite the Euro 4 standard. The engine of the 675 should deliver 128 hp at 14,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 71 Nm at 10,900 rpm. The engine of the more powerful 800 variant is said to produce a remarkable 148 hp at 13,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 88 Nm at 10,600 rpm.

Both F3 variants limited to 250 pieces each

Otherwise, MV Agusta has also given the two new 2018 F3 models the finest components that are based on the Supersport World Championship bike. The upside-down fork, for example, comes from Marzocchi; Brembo brakes. MV is also equipping the two new F3 models with a new electronics package. New are a revised ride-by-wire system, ABS from Bosch and an eight-stage adjustable traction control. The switch box has also been revised and given a quickshifter. In addition, the MV developers have made adjustments to the frame and design of the new bikes.

There is also a racing kit for both models, with which the performance can be increased a little. Thanks to the kit, the power of the 675 RC increases to 133 hp at 14,750 rpm; the kit makes the 800 RC 153 hp at 13,250 rpm. Particularly light carbon components developed by SC Project also reduce weight, which should be particularly noticeable on the racetrack. Without the racing kit, the F3 675 RC and F3 800 RC should each weigh 173 kilograms when dry. With the racing kit, the weight should be reduced to 165 kilograms.

As usual with the RC models, the MV Agusta F3 675 RC and the MV Agusta F3 800 RC will only be available in limited numbers in the 2018 model year. There will be 250 pieces per model variant. In terms of price, the two models are not far apart. The 675 RC will be available for 18,990 euros (plus additional costs). For the 800 variant, interested parties have to pay 20,990 euros (plus additional costs). So if you want to own a copy in the future, you shouldn’t wait too long. It is not yet known whether MV Agusta will also adapt the basic versions of the F3. In any case, it would be desirable.

New MV Agusta F4 in the starting blocks?

In addition to the new F3 models, fans of the brand can also look forward to new F4 models. Only recently, the manufacturer announced that it would develop a new four-cylinder engine, an even more stringent version of which will also be competing in the Superbike World Championship. The development of the new four-cylinder engine, which, by the way, is supposed to meet the Euro 4 standard, and the recently confirmed separation from AMG should usher in a new era in the company history of the Italian manufacturer.
