Even with the kit control unit, wiring harness and exhaust system, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is transformed into a radical racing motorcycle with a greedy acceleration from the low revs. In addition, the blipper function is activated via the kit ECU, so it can also be downshifted without a clutch. Unfortunately, the kit parts are only available from selected Kawasaki dealers. The kit exhaust is however available directly from www.kawasaki.de.

The Balance Free fork offers a large adjustment range and reacts immediately to small setup changes. The feedback from the front is a real treat.

“When developing the new ZX-10R, we subordinated everything to the lap time,” explains Yoshimoto Matsuda, father of the current Ninja.

Recall Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R / RR (2016 – 2018)
Transmission gears can break
Kawasaki has initiated a recall for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR model years 2016 through 2018. Inadequately hardened components can break the transmission gears.
Due to a problem with the transmission gears, Kawasaki has a recall for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000S) and models Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR (ZX1000Z) of the model years 2016 to 2018 started. Insufficiently hardened components can cause the gears to break if excessive force is applied during a gear shift. The fragments can become wedged in the transmission and block it. This can lead to dangerous situations and falls.
On the models affected by the recall from the model years 2016 to 2018, the gearwheel for second gear on the transmission input shaft and the gearwheels for gear stages 2, 3 and 4 on the output shaft are exchanged. The corresponding gears have already been replaced by improved versions during production. The first models where the error appeared came from Thailand.
In Germany, almost 800 copies are affected by the recall. The recall campaign will start in February 2018. The installation of the repair kit should take about 2.5 hours.
Model and chassis numbers of affected copies in Europe:
