Sete Gibernau back in 2019 motorcycle Grands Prix !
We are in 2018, it is not April 1, but one of the riders registered in the 2019 MotoE electric motorcycle Grands Prix is Sete Gibernau, back at Pons! Explanations.
Sete Gibernau, double vice-world MotoGP champion and, will make his (big?) Comeback in Grand Prix next year with the Pons team, which is entering the 2019 MotoE world championship. Like Randy de Puniet and Kenny Foray, the Catalan driver is looking forward to this new challenge !

"The world is taking a new direction and I want to know where it is going", explains the grandson of the founder of Montesa and Bultaco, who will join the Pons Racing team. Rossi’s best nemesis (remember) had attempted one, which ended in one after just eight runs.
Three generations of motorcycles
"I never thought I would one day find a championship that I thought I had left for good, but life always has surprises in store", notes the driver, at the height of his 45 years on the clock: "after ten years without competition, here I am again! "
- MotoE World Championship :
"I will work hard to be up to the situation", promises Gibernau who thanks Siton Pons, the team manager, for having "insisted so much on convincing him" to seize this opportunity. "I am particularly enthusiastic about the idea of driving this new generation of electric motorcycles and contributing to their development, in addition to being able to say that I will have driven the three generations of motorcycles that took part in the motorcycle world championship", continues the pilot in reference to the "past of two-stroke, the present of four-stroke and the future of electric".
The new 2019 MotoE World Championship will take place during the Spanish GP at Jerez, the French GP at Le Mans, the German GP at Sachsenring, the Austrian GP at Spielberg and the San Marino GP at Misano.
