Road rallies - 2013 Beaujolais Rally: the Florent Derrien cuvee! - 46th Beaujolais rally

After a race strewn with pitfalls, with crashes at the head of the race and the merciless disqualification of rally leader Mickael Porcu, Florent Derrien pulls out of the game and wins this 46th Beaujolais rally.

46th Beaujolais rally

For the sixth round of the 2013 French road rally championship, the 46th Beaujolais rally had many surprises in store for us. Organized as always by the Club Motocycliste du Beaujolais (CMB), the rally this year has a slightly different pattern from previous editions..

In addition to rainy weather throughout the daytime stage (it has become a habit since the start of the championship!), A nice layer of gravel carefully spread by the DDE on one of the two stages of the course caused many problems. to competitors…

But these two negative parameters were not the only ones to slow down the ardor of the pilots: the road safety platoons (PSR), false cops with murderous binoculars who are there to calm excessive speeds, especially in urban areas, to "preserve discipline ", were present in places that were at the very least strategic and caught more than one, and not the least…

On the daily menu

  • The pilot park is located in Blace (69), a very nice little town in the Rhône department and the nerve center of the rally. The start of the day stage will be in Villefranche-sur-Saône (69), a prologue link of about 25 km is therefore planned to reach the official starting town..

  • After a regrouping park on the Place de la Republique in Villefranche-sur-Saône, start of the daytime race for a large loop of about 113 km which ends in Blace.

  • 15 minutes of assistance are then granted, followed by a second large loop at the start this time from Blace, with a new passage in the two stages, that is to say that (usual for this rally) of Croix du Ban / Col de St Bonnet d ” a length of 4.5 km and Biconne / Col de la Croix Montmain of 4.2 km (already taken in a previous edition about ten years ago).

  • Back in Blace, a second 15-minute assistance is given before a third and short loop of around thirty kilometers, for a last daytime passage on the Croix du Ban / Col de St Bonnet special and direct return to arrive at Blace.

For the night

  • Departure from Blace for a long loop and a passage in the two specials.

  • 15 minutes of assistance then small loop and last passage at Croix du Ban / Col de St Bonnet, return to Blace and arrival of the rally.

A relatively "light" program compared to some of the last Beaujolais editions with their three large daytime loops, all taken over at night. But at the time, the rallies were not limited in time by the high administrative and federal authorities, and the last arrivals of the night stage arrived at sunrise….
