2nd Rally of the Volcanoes: Manoel Delaval champion of France !
After the withdrawal of Maxime Olivieri following the death of Wilfried Cally, Manoel Delaval had the doors of the 2009 title wide open: Mano did not fail and emerged as the winner of this final ! A rally with a particular layout … Report.
Come on, we re-motivate…
Barring additional disaster, the Elite title is therefore almost acquired for Manoel Delaval, already titled in Topsport since the Rallye de l’Ain (read). In Mono, the crown is also already on the head of Maxime Olivieri, but everything remains to be done on the other steps of the podiums !
On the Monos side, with the withdrawal of Site rider Thierry Canazzi for reasons identical to those of the Maximus package, everything is still possible from second place: between Michael Pefaure on his Yamaha 450 WRF, Marc Troussard (yes, himself!) riding his KTM 690 SMC, Pierre Mouneu also from Team Site at the controls of his inseparable Husaberg 650 FSE or Pierre Derrien on KTM 690 SM, the battle will be tight !
In the sidecar family, everything is also possible: the 33 points ahead of the Laurent Guillet / David Chanal (Choda 1000 GSXR) crew over outgoing champions Herve Laur / Marie Laure Ferrieu (Choda 1300 GSXR) can still melt. in two stages (day and night are counted in two stages).
These unfortunate points even almost disappeared before the race: during the Friday recos, the clutch of the Choda 1000 GSXR having broken, Laurent and David triggered the red plan to find the part in the whole of France! But the legendary solidarity of the sidecar drivers has borne fruit: "it’s Jean-Paul Faustino (a former sidecar driver of the championship nestled in Isère, NDLR) who got us a clutch and Guy Damois, builder of DJ sides in Savoie who hit more than 400 terminals to bring it to us", explains Laurent Guillet.
It should also be noted that the category is changing considerably: the level is more and more homogeneous and the contenders for the podium are more and more numerous, even if the spirit of solidarity remains firmly anchored. !
