Road rallies - 2nd Volcanoes Rally: Manoel Delaval champion of France! - Shortened night

After the withdrawal of Maxime Olivieri following the death of Wilfried Cally, Manoel Delaval had the doors of the 2009 title wide open: Mano did not fail and emerged as the winner of this final ! A rally with a particular layout … Report.

Shortened night

While the start of the night stage was scheduled for 9 p.m., a little quack from the organization about the management of the marshals delayed it by an hour.

But a start at 22:00 would result in the end of the rally at 3:00 a.m., not to mention a possible problem on a special … As the authorizations do not allow to go beyond 2:00 a.m., the race direction must therefore remove one passage out of the two planned.

Shortly before 10 p.m., opener Pascal Leger (alias Doddy, former organizer of the rallye du Morvan but also an excellent rallyman) therefore took the start of the night stage of this second edition of the Rallye des Volcans.

Same pattern as for the day stage: half of the pilots on the western loop towards the La Forêt special and the other half on the eastern loop towards Villemorie.

In Villemorie precisely, Mano takes another special by signing a remarkable 1’18”575 ahead … Moon himself: Pierre Mouneu on his Husaberg 650 FSE (model 2005!) Indeed slams the second fastest time in 1 ‘ 21”586, ahead of Maxime Mettra on the handlebars of his KTM 950 Supermoto in 1’21”785.

Assistance and refueling between the two loops … and it’s off again On the La Forêt special, Mano scored his victory over the Volcanoes and gave himself a better time in 1’20”923! Renaud Fanon on Honda 1000 VTR sets the second fastest time (1’24”432) ahead of Daniel Blanchon (1’24”583).
