2nd Rally of the Volcanoes: Manoel Delaval champion of France !

For its second edition, the Volcanoes Rally got off to a bad start with the fatal accident of Wilfried Cally during reconnaissance (read) … Some drivers then chose not to race, like Maxime Olivieri, the leader of the championship , which thus lets fly away any hope of obtaining the title of champion of France Elite.

With only 3 points ahead of the provisional over Manoel Delaval and his Central Team Buell XB 12 SS, Maximus had no room for error … "I was present when Wilfried fell", explains the island pilot:"it cooled me down, the recos are very dangerous, we should review that and out of respect for Wilfried, I chose not to ride". The Corsican driver even plans not to put the cover back in the French rally championship next year but to participate in the 2010 ER6 Cup … To be continued !

Despite the pain, the route of this second Rallye des Volcans was particularly magnificent: two different loops starting from Saint-Ours-les-Roches (63) with one special each (La Forêt, 2.9 km and Villemorie, 1.9 km km), i.e. a route of approximately 130 km.

These two East and West loops made it possible, by simultaneously sending a driver every minute, to test a new pattern to halve the duration of the event, while maintaining significant mileage and as many specials as possible..

With three passages planned in each loop for the day stage and two nocturnal passages, the volcanic course therefore provides a total length of 650 km including ten specials: tough! Full report.
