Rally of Corsica: Imperial Piazza !
As expected, it is Paul-Christian Piazza, the native of the country, who took it all this weekend and won the 6th Corsica rally riding his KTM 450 EXC. A customer for the final title? Report.

We erase everything and start over, because "night is another day", said a former French rally champion…
First night special, it starts badly: the official AFC Micro timing is up and showing times that are at the very least fanciful (more than 8 minutes for a daytime special in just 3 minutes) … In short, an indescribable soup obliges the organization not to take into account the times of this special for the classifications.
After a short nighttime mountain link of an hour, here we are at the Pont de La Pierre. Once again, the KTM 450 EXC pilot Paul-Christian Piazza won with 1.35 seconds ahead of Michel Marchini’s Honda 450 HM (2’18’47 against 2’19.82). Carulu Biancucci on KTM 990 SMR is third in 2’21.15 while Julien Toniutti is fourth in 2‘22.03.
At the end of this first night loop, the break is only 15 minutes. Fatigue begins to be felt, especially after the scorching temperature of the day … Then it starts again !
For the second night pass through Bocognano, everything is back to normal and the clock is back on track. And once again, the best time for the unbeatable Paul-Christian Piazza, this time 1.74 seconds ahead of Julien Toniutti’s official KTM 990 Superduke. Michel Marchini on Honda 450 HM follows 3 tenths further…
Last passage by the small nice link connecting Bocognano to the Stone Bridge. When we saw the ravines by the side of the road in some places by day, we said to ourselves that it would not be good to go straight at night here! Thanks to Thierry Canazzi who opened the way for me with a pace a little more sustained than during the day to keep me awake !
Pont de la Pierre, the last one … And? Well yes, another scratch for the young driver as talented as an islander Paul-Christian Piazza on his KTM 450 EXC: 2’17.11, ahead of Michel Marchini and Carulu Biancucci…
