Road rallies - Rally of Corsica: Imperial Piazza! - The course

As expected, it was Paul-Christian Piazza, the native of the country, who won everything this weekend and won the 6th Corsica rally on the handlebars of his KTM 450 EXC. A customer for the final title? Report.

The course

Thanks to the organization of JMP Racing, this sixth edition of the Rallye de Corse was a total success: only two stages out of the ten planned were cut off and the entire route was completed (3 laps of day + 2 night tours). Even the sun was there !

The route is rather simple and changes over the laps, to protect the residents from the nuisance caused by the passage of motorcycles: 120 km of Porticcio / Porticcio loop for the first two daytime laps and 100 km for the third lap, each lap including a passage through the Bocognano special and one through the Stone Bridge.

The first half of this loop of the first turns crosses some peaceful villages in the Corsican mountains by more or less paved and broken roads but with magical landscapes. The third day’s lap skips this part to join the first special of the loop via the national road. The connection is identical on each lap between stages 1 and 2.

The night stage is identical to the third day lap, to be done twice: national to Bocognano, then a narrow and winding mountain link to reach the Stone Bridge and national to Porticcio.
