Road rallies - Sun Rally 2011: hell under the sun! - Rankings and awards ceremony

As expected, the 2011 French road rally championship starts off with a lot of twists: Pierre Mouneu falls heavily and forfeits, the Corsicans make a sensational entry and Maxime Mettra wins the race ! Story.

Rankings and awards ceremony

Once all the accounts have been done, penalties included, the winner of the rally is Maxime Mettra from Team Site (KTM 950 Supermoto), followed by Wilfried Tallone (Ducati 1100 Hypermotard) and Patrick Curtat (KTM 990 SM).

New in the French rally championship: the "Teams" category counts the places obtained for the three best results of a team

To kick off this idea born on the Ultimate Rally, the ASM ACO team took the first step of the podium with the results of the brothers Derrien (Nicolas 4th and Florent 8th) and Didier Beneston (9th), ahead of the Melting Pot team for the rankings of Patrick Curtat (3rd) Alain Fratini (7th) and Romano Laghi (15th). Third place for the Site team with maxime Mettra (1st), Michel Bonneau (12th) and Marc Troussard (45th).

The general opinion was that this rally was too tough. But after some fine-tuning, it will undoubtedly become a superb event: we can bet that Patrick Bournisien will be able to correct the situation for a second Sun Rally that is a little more human….
