Circuit, open up !
The project Open the circuits launched by the Mutuelle des Motards, the FFM and the FFMC count 23 circuits. Presented at the Motorized Two-Wheeler Day of the City of Paris, it offers an interesting moral contract between bikers and public authorities.
Launched at the end of 2002 by the Mutuelle des Motards and Christophe Guyot, team manager of GMT 94, the project "Open the circuits"(read) is jointly led by the French Federation of Motorcycling (FFM) and the French Federation of Angry Bikers (FFMC)."The FFMC will encourage motorcyclists to go to protected places thanks to the support of the FFM, which has offered to supervise and ensure the safety of all", underline the initiators of the project in a good unifying momentum rare enough to be greeted:"by agreeing to associate their identity, everyone demonstrates the same spirit in the direction of a citizen project".
Presented during the Technical Day on the place of motorized two-wheelers in the city organized by the City of Paris (read), the project would provide bikers with better access to the circuits, on the model of the Carole Circuit, thanks to the financial participation of local communities. In some regions, the project would even be applicable "at once".
A list of 23 circuits was therefore sent to the public authorities, so that they could draw inspiration from the "moral contract" suggested by the project: "we offer you a space to practice speed near your home and in return, we ask you to be careful and accept the rules imposed by road safety".
"The file is now on the desk of local elected officials, the ball is in their court", specifies Patrick Jacquot, the president of the Mutuelle des Motards. Let us hope that they do not take too long to dismiss her. !
