7 young people killed per week in accidents linked to alcohol abuse

Road accidents are the leading cause of death among young people. Every week, 7 young adults aged 18 to 24 lose their lives on the roads of France in an accident linked to alcohol abuse and more than 27 are injured. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are naturally dark days which account for 56% of deaths of 18/24 year olds, 63% of which occur at night.

The scenario is simple: a group of friends soak themselves in alcohol before taking the car to continue the evening. They will have an accident. For 5 minutes, the Internet user witnesses the consequences of such a tragedy, from the unfortunate announcement by a man in uniform to a mother awakened in the middle of the night to the efforts of the emergency services to save the young people..

"Be careful, some images may offend the sensitivity of the youngest as well as uninformed people", specifies the Directorate of Road Safety and Traffic (DSCR).

According to our information, a prevention campaign targeting motorized two-wheelers is currently in preparation and should be released soon..
