New high-end material from Finland

The Finnish clothing specialist Rukka has announced some new products for 2020 that are located in the high-end segment.

Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to buy a Rukka wearing probably knows why the clothing of the Finnish manufacturer enjoys an excellent reputation among motorcyclists. For years, Rukka has been regularly bringing new clothing that impresses with its excellent quality, good fit and a thoroughly chic design. As is well known, good quality has its price, which also applies to the products presented for the 2020 model year.

Rukka off-lane

The Rukka Offlane textile suit was presented for the first time at EICMA 2019 in Milan. The new off-lane combination is initially being offered in three different color variants. Jacket and pants can also be bought independently of each other. For both the pants and the jacket, Rukka relies on mesh lining and lots of ventilation openings that can be closed with zippers. The outer material is made of abrasion-resistant Cordura 500-D material. The jacket can also be adjusted in some places such as the upper and lower arms or the waist, which should have a positive effect on the desired fit. The trousers can also be adjusted in some places, such as the end of the trouser legs or the waistband. When it comes to protectors, Rukka doesn’t do things by halves with the new off-lane combination variant: the jacket is extra protected on the shoulders, elbows and back. The so-called Rukka D30 Full Back back protector can be retrofitted.

Buyers have to invest 1,378 euros for both components of the Rukka station wagon.

In addition, there are two front pockets in which retrofittable chest protectors can be found. The pants are equipped with protectors in the hip and knee / shin areas. The breathable, windproof and waterproof Gore-Tex inner membrane can be removed from both items of clothing. Rukka has also given the jacket an elastic Gore-Tex storm collar that is sewn on and can be hidden in a small collar pocket when not in use. Of course, Rukka equips both combination parts with numerous pockets in which smaller utensils such as the wallet can be stowed. The off-lane jacket is available in sizes 46 to 48 and costs 779 euros. The pants cost 599 euros. Buyers can choose between sizes C1 short (48 to 66), C2 normal (46 to 62) and C3 long (48 to 58). The new Rukka off-lane station wagon should be available from the beginning of 2020.

Rukka R-EX

The new Rukka R-EX textile combination is in the somewhat cheaper price segment. Both jacket and trousers are made of 100% breathable, wind- and waterproof Gore-Tex 2-layer nylon laminate, which is said to be particularly robust and tear-resistant. The R-EX jacket can also be adjusted in some places to get the best possible fit. The same applies to pants. The jacket is equipped with protectors in the shoulders and elbows as standard. Back and chest protectors can be retrofitted. The pants are equipped with protectors on the hips and knees / shins.

The Rukka R-EX textile suit is available for a total of 1,098 euros.

Rukka has given the R-EX jacket two waterproof outer pockets that can hold a smartphone, for example. The R-EX trousers, which have an outside pocket, have been equipped with a special anti-slip system in the seat area. Rukka charges 599 euros for the R-EX jacket, which is available in sizes 46 to 66. The trousers are available from 499 euros in sizes C1 short (48 to 66), C2 normal (46 to 62) and C3 long (48 to 58).

Rukka Offlane and Rukka R-EX: The Finnish clothing specialist is adding two new textile combinations to its range, which not only differ in terms of price but also in terms of equipment. Seen in this way, the R-EX can be viewed as a “beginner” combination, while the Offlane is even better equipped, but it also costs a little more.
