Fabio Quartararo’s goals for the 2019 MotoGP German GP
Fabio Quartararo approaches the German Grand Prix, ninth MotoGP 2019 round, with optimism following his second consecutive podium last Sunday in the Netherlands. The French rider feels in harmony with his private Yamaha and foresees less stress on his recently operated right arm thanks to the configuration of the Sachsenring.
"This layout of the Sachsenring consists mainly of left turns, which will allow me not to strain my right arm too much. In the meantime I am taking advantage of these few days of respite, to start as hard as possible", explains Yamaha rider Petronas SRT , sixth in the provisional and first independent driver thanks to his two successive podiums.

"This is not necessarily my favorite track but it should do it physically. I think this track can be successful for us and then in the past, the M1 has scored good results!", Projects the young Habs from 20 years.
"El Diablo" no doubt also feeds the ambition to continue his series of consecutive pole positions, signed in Catalonia and then in the Netherlands, which already place him in second place among the best French drivers in the premier class. Only Christian Sarron had done better, aligning five pole positions in 1988 !
Another sparkle before the summer break ?
Fabio is however aware of the difficulty of the task: the Sachsenring is the preserve of the championship leader, Marc Marquez, who has always won there since 2010. Beating the Honda rider in qualifying will already be a big challenge, especially that he can afford to take risks before the summer break thanks to his 44 pts lead in the championship.
As for Franco Morbidelli, Fabio’s teammate at Yamaha SRT, the Italian says he doesn’t really know "what to expect at Sachsenring, but it’s a circuit that I really like. I’ve always been fast in Moto2, but I didn’t ride there last year in MotoGP because I was injured ".
The Italian-Brazilian, 12th in the provisional with 22 pts behind his young box neighbor, nevertheless says he is serene and confident: on the one hand thanks to his good performance in Assen (5th after a recovery of the thunder), the ‘different because the Saschsenring "is a narrow track with fluid turns that will suit our bike".
The first MotoGP free practice session of the 2019 German GP will start on Friday from 9:55 a.m. Remember that this meeting across the Rhine marks the start of the MotoE electric motorcycle world cup season, including the first race – eight laps! – is scheduled for Sunday at 10:00 a.m. before the Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP events.
