Kymco took advantage of the EICMA show in Milan (Italy) to present its new Xciting 400 S, an improved version of the Taiwanese sport-GT scooter, and two interesting concepts under the name "C Series" CV2 and CV3. The first one works on the X-ADV flower beds, the second on the MP3 ones. Presentation.

Launched in 2013, the Xciting 400 undergoes a first overhaul essentially characterized by a new design of its front face, more modern and with LED lighting, and a switch to Euro4 standards for its 399cc single cylinder. The performance of this Sport-GT scooter remains identical to 2016, with 36 hp and 37 Nm of torque.

Re-christened Xciting S 400, it also receives three-dial instrumentation, a height-adjustable windshield, redesigned handlebars and a more rigid chassis thanks to new engine mounts. Its peripherals do not change: 41 mm fork, 14 and 15 inch wheels and radial mount front brake calipers..

This scooter with attractive lines takes up the classic architecture two wheels at the front and one wheel at the rear, like the MP3 but also the Peugeot Metropolis and the Quadro 3D.

The only notable difference: its tilting front axle exhibits a double fork kinematics placed one behind the other, visually close to the spectacular Yamaha three-wheeler, the! All highlighted by the red anodized treatment of the sheaths: it’s banging !

"The CV3 is fitted with an electronic front suspension lock: a single press of a button is sufficient and the CV3 remains standing by itself at each stop", specifies Kymco, who does not go into the details of its technical characteristics. MNC assumes that this CV3 must also take the platform of the maxi-scooter AK 550.

"A large number of features for safety and comfort make the CV3 an excellent alternative for pilots wishing to combine the agility of a scooter in the city with the freedom and comfort of a car", adds the Asian manufacturer about its prototype, one of its other peculiarities is its hard top like Adiva scooters.

The future Kymco 3-wheeler by 2020 … then at Kawasaki ?!

Do these Kymco concepts foreshadow the arrival of production models in the short or medium term? No doubt yes in terms of their careful presentation, but maybe not exactly in this form. No information has been communicated on this subject by the brand, which probably carefully collects the opinions expressed to decide whether or not to follow up on these projects….

It is also possible that Kawasaki, which recently offers scooters based on Kymco, also looks with an interested eye at the first 3-wheeler of its partner, imagining why not in the future a green variation with Akashi sauce: stay connected !
