The popular Honda CB500F, CB500X and CBR500R take advantage of the obligatory transition to Euro5 motorcycle standards to display new graphics and colors. Presentation and availability.
Relaunched in 2013 and then improved in 2016, the Honda CB500 series was then given a redesign last year to maintain its significant success: the Japanese giant has sold a total of "more than 92,000" in Europe, mainly in roadster version ("48%") favored by young A2 motorcycle licenses.

Nicely designed and rigorous, these three motorcycles from the same platform are part of the "native A2": their parallel twin-cylinder of 471 cc develops 47.5 hp (35 kW) at 8600 rpm, which is exactly the maximum authorized power. for new holders of the A2 license – which, as a reminder, is now compulsory regardless of the candidate’s age.
Bikers of all profiles also praise their accessibility: the CB500F (11th sale on last year with 2683 immats) contains its saddle height at 785 mm, its weight at 189 kg and its price under 6,500 euros. On the program also LED lighting and fairly complete instrumentation (fuel gauge, gear engaged, consumption, etc.) as well as braking and damping without fuss but judiciously calibrated.
If all these qualities are not enough to really worry the bestsellers that are the MT-07 and Z650 and their respective 6368 and 3676 registrations, they nevertheless allow Honda to offer a relevant and varied roadster offer to the extent that it is completed. by the attractive and more efficient CB650R (2,687 units in 2019).
The Cebe get on their (20) 21
Not surprisingly, Honda does not upset this balance since the “Cebe” 2021 are content with new graphics and colors, in particular a blue “Candy Caribbean” and yellow “Candy Moon Glow” on the CB500F. The nice sport – available in gray, red or white – inherits its side of logos "underlining its competition heritage", asserts a nothing pompously the manufacturer.
Faith of MNC, the news lends itself more naturally to the illustration of the success of the HRC in motorcycle competition! Unfortunately, the latest version of the Supersport will not be imported into Europe: the fine blade of the circuits will remain confined to its …

Finally, the trail version receives a rear loop tinted in red as on the brand’s flagship maxi-trail: the CRF1100L Africa Twin. Three colors are attributed to this excellent all-rounder: red, black and white.
Last important detail: the three CB500s comply with the new Euro5 motorcycle standard which entered into force on January 1, 2020, which all new motorcycles will have to comply with in 2021 despite Euro4 extension requests issued in the face of the coronavirus crisis.
Remember that the new Euro5 standards significantly tighten the maximum thresholds of polluting emissions: Honda explains having reduced by "more than 40%" the discharges of hydrocarbons from the twin-cylinder of its CB500s, while improving its detection of "misfires".
Availability expected at the end of 2020
Asked by MNC, Honda France estimates that the CB500F will be available in dealerships around "November / December 2020", the CB500X for "December" and the CBR500R for "September / October". However, the French subsidiary is not yet able to provide us with the prices of its 2021 novelties..
For the record, the three motorcycles are currently displayed at 6,499 euros for the CB500F and 6,999 euros for the CB500X and the CBR500R. Logically, these prices should not experience disproportionate inflation in view of their essentially cosmetic trends … Stay tuned !
