Why the Kawasaki ZX-25R will not be imported into France
Presented last week on Site, the Kawasaki ZX-25R caught the eye of many sports bikers. Unfortunately, this mini Ninja made in Thailand will not be marketed on our old continent. Kawasaki France gives us some details. Interview.
Site: In which countries is the ZX-25R sold? Where is it produced ?
Kawasaki Moto France: It is marketed in the Far East (Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, etc.) and manufactured in the Kawasaki factory in Thailand..
MNC: What is the return of the small-displacement 4-cylinder engine? ?
KMF: These countries are very ‘aspirational’, they look to Europe and the rest of the world in terms of style and the World Superbike audience in the Far East is huge. The Ninja ZX-10R is impractical for many countries in the Far East where the 250 cc is already considered "big displacement". The combination of 250 cc (large displacement) and 4-cylinder (just like the racing bikes of Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes) is a very powerful marketing tool. The 250 cc sports car market in these countries is considerable..
- ZX-25R :
- MNC special file :
MNC: His 51 horses eliminate him from the A2 category. Isn’t that regrettable commercially ?
KMF: No, because this motorcycle is intended for markets in the Far East, so category A2 does not apply to them.
MNC: Will it be imported into France ?
KMF: No. It does not comply with European Union regulations and does not comply with Euro 5.
MNC: Less powerful and less sporty, the more torquey and lighter Ninja 400 therefore has nothing to fear ?
KMF: The Ninja 400 is a different concept which responds to European legislation. The ZX-25R and the Ninja 400 are totally different motorcycles. They do not compete.
