We may not have suspected it at the time, but the year 1985 will see the appearance of the year that will mark a new era of sports. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Suzuki will launch on the market a limited edition (100 copies for France) of its 750 GSX-R using the colors of the very first model.. And therefore judge; the decor at 20 years old and yet, it has retained a sacred charm. Those who witnessed the first turns of the wheels of the illustrious ancestor will cry for joy. In two decades, the GSX-R will have gained 42 horsepower and lost 13 kilos. But it still hasn’t been so rosy … Would you believe it? The 750 suffered from overweight during its lifetime. It will go up to 208 kg dry in the 90s. If the first was subject to criticism on its handling, the current one is laudatory on all fronts..
Compared to the standard model, this edition is entitled, in addition to its colors which go so far as to invade the saddle, a few small bonuses: a specific key, a subtly tinted screen, a colored chain and new front brake discs. The tracks are grooved and openwork, a little tuning touch that suits the image of the motorcycle rather well..
In quick succession, Suzuki presents 2 models that will make people jealous. First a new 1000 which will hurt a lot; then this 750 History Replica, honoring the legend born 20 years ago and endowed with the formidable potential that we know. The success of the GSX-R is not about to end.
* The 600 GSX-R 2005 is also offered in this decoration in limited edition, with the same number of copies.
