Suzuki has designed an excellent V-twin to equip the TLS in 96. Power and extension skillfully combine with a very nice character. Better, it retains many of its qualities when it undergoes the bridle. But there was a big problem: the machine suffered from inadvertent dangerous limit guidance. Suz urgently manufactured steering dampers intended to calm the ardor of the beast. Now these worries are forgotten. How pleasant it is to take advantage of this twin! The chassis of the TLS is an aluminum trellis frame with large sections associated with an inverted fork and a curious rotary shock absorber. Stability is excellent in curves and at high speed. To all this is added a good agility in small corners which we come out with vigor thanks to the trunk of the twin. The suspensions provide a certain comfort. So much the better ; the driving position is frankly sport without being too exhausting. Brakes and gearbox carry the Suzuki signature – power, ease and flawless. Designated rival of Honda’s 1000 VTR, it suffers like her from a ridiculously large fuel tank. The personality of its engine is an asset of choice.
