In the top 20 new motorcycle registrations from April 2018, we welcome a new addition whose registration numbers are going through the roof – the KTM 790 Duke!

Dealers in Germany have been delivering the brand new KTM 790 Duke since the beginning of April – and hey presto, it climbed to fifth place in its debut month, leaving its little sisters 390 and 690 Duke as well as the big 1290 behind. Of their total of more than 500 newly registered copies, only 14.2 percent are due to commercial registrations. This makes it the most successful addition to the top 20 new motorcycle registrations in April 2018.

New registrations in April with 6 new entries

The KTM 390 Duke was also not in the top 20 in March, but is now entering tenth place with 242 new registrations. The Honda CB 500 F is new in 12th place (215 units), the Suzuki V-Strom 650 (196) in 16th place and the Honda NC 750 X in 20th place. For six newcomers there must of course be six models that Make space – these are: KTM 1290 Super Adventure (10th place in March), BMW S 1000 R (12th place in March), Honda Fireblade (13th place in March), BMW R 1200 R (14th place in March), Suzuki GSX S. 750 (March 17th) and KTM 1290 Super Duke GT (March 19th).

Kawasaki Z 900 consolidates position 2

Kawasaki is particularly pleased about the Z 900, which is currently in the process of pouring a stable concrete foundation for its second place in the new registration statistics: In March, 927 models were registered, well over 60 percent more than the third-placed Kawasaki Z 650 (565 new registrations). And in April, too, the mid-range Z with a 40 percent cushion continues to work diligently on its success: the Yamaha MT-07 follows its 763 new registrations in third place with “only” 547 newly registered units.
