Japanese driver Yoshinari Matsushita, 43, was killed yesterday on the Isle of Man during qualifying sessions for the 2013 Tourist Trophy. "The accident occurred in Ballacry, in the north of the island," Auto Cycle announces Union (ACU Events), organizer of the event.

Hailing from Saitama, Japan, Yoshinari started racing in TT in 2009 and finished 5th in the 2011 TT Zero riding an electric motorcycle. By 2008, he won the Motegi 8H and competed regularly in Superstock and of Superbike ", recalls ACU Events.

“Yoshi was a very popular rider who had many friends in the TT paddocks,” added Gary Thompson, ACU General Secretary. "He was a genuine and sympathetic character, who always had time for everyone. He will be sorely missed.".
