The waltz of new 2021 motorcycles starts this Monday at Kawasaki with two novelties in the form of evolutions of a recently improved model: the trail-GT Versys 1000 (more "GT" than "Trail"), which has gradually established itself as Akashi manufacturer’s road proposal.

The range welcomes a third variation: the Versys 1000 S, which is logically situated between the current Versys 1000 standard and Versys 1000 SE. Concretely, this new model "S" is in reality the equivalent of a version "SE" without the suspensions with electronic piloting !

This Versys 1000 S instead receives a 43 mm Showa inverted fork and a single-shock absorber from the same supplier, all adjustable in preload and rebound … by hand, therefore! Euro5 approved, the 4-cylinder 120 hp and 102 Nm – originally from the Z1000 – is renewed as is with the notable exception of the addition of the standard shifter.

This "new" Versys – still as imposing with its 257 kg – also uses the SE its connected color screen, its lights illuminating the inside of the curves and all the range of driving aids managed by the inertia unit: anti -adjustable slip, four riding modes, angle sensitive ABS.

The motorcycle will also be offered with travel kits which include 28-liter suitcases, a 47-liter top-case, protective pads or even a GPS mount. Something to go far and comfortably with the standard assistance of an adjustable screen and saddle, a 12V socket, hand guards, a regulator and heated grips !

According to our information from Kawasaki France, the Versys 1000 S will be available in "January 2021 at a little over 15,000 euros". This novelty – available in green and black or black and red – is positioned quite logically between the standard at 13,599 euros and the SE at 17,099 euros.

Versys 1000 SE 2021

No dramatic changes on the Versys 1000 SE, which simply receives the latest evolution of Showa electronically controlled damping. The Kawasaki thus goes from the technology "Kawasaki Electronic Control Suspension" (KECS) discovered in 2019 to the "Shyhook Electronic Equipped Ride" (EERA) of the Japanese suspension manufacturer.

This new device has of course "been carefully developed by Kawasaki engineers" to "preserve the sporty character of the Versys 1000, while providing a smoother ride thanks to continuous adaptation to the road surface in real time. ".

Akashi Greens promise a significant gain which would result in a reduction in the phenomenon of "pitching with a passenger", a lighter steering and more stability. In short, it would be better everywhere, as a good novelty !

This Versys 1000 SE has all the features listed below and also renews its sporty braking provided by 4-piston radial calipers as well as its 21-liter tank. A real devourer of kilometers offering a relaxed position and nice reminders, but also pronounced vibrations above 5000 rpm…
