To escape to the American continent, Triumph looked very seriously at the Bonneville. More than subtle modifications, the 800 changes profoundly. The fork widens, the tank more foam, the saddle goes down one level and the footrests move forward. Lots of little extra details and the Bonneville adopts a “big cruiser” look. In this version more route 66, the Bonneville gain weight but this is not detrimental, the beautiful English still offering a healthy behavior and a pleasant overall ease. But this “Americanization” also results in unpleasant suspensions and braking that must be applied in moderation, the single front disc having the task of slowing down a beautiful beast..
