Triumph 900 DAYTONA 1996

One thing is certain: English machines have always had an indefinable, intrinsic charm, something more. And another thing calls out to us: this new Daytona 900 was born with the same and noble blood. Clearly differentiating itself from the 750 and 1000 Daytona, the latest Triumph presents itself as a sports car full of charm and character.. Above all, there is this superb, admirable dress, a real pleasure for the eyes, intensified by a yellow tinged with elegance. Under its “so British” plastic hides a 3 cylinder which is no less so. This 100 hp mill offers pleasure not only in use but also in listening to its bewitching song. The engineers have focused on reinforcing this noise that stirs your spine. They worked and optimized the air box and the silencers in order to bring the mill to express itself at its best … and without offending the law. It is beautiful and pleasant to master the acoustics.
At this power level, this boiler is one of the most pleasant on the current market. Available and even energetic from 3,000 rpm, it gives off with relish, strengthening around 5,000 rpm and again at 7,000 rpm. If it occurs to you to push the Daytona to its maximum speed, know that its short reduction will make you wait more than 220 km / h at the switch, at 10,000 rpm – There, you have been in the red zone for 1 000 trs.
The driving of the Englishwoman has little to do with the pure Japanese style GSX-R. The daytona is much more user-friendly. The half-handlebars are not really close to the rider but the legs are comfortable and placed naturally. Comfort is pleasantly distinguished, not only by the saddle but also by the set of suspensions. Triumph has looked into this with great attention and provides its 900 sporty with high quality damping. The Daytona is not afraid of anything, swallows all the imperfections of the road, even on the corner, and enjoys the luxury of remaining comfortable. In the event of arousal, it is still necessary to harden the suspension lines to limit diving during heavy braking. But before we get there…

In fact, the Daytona is a good sports car (its large turning radius proves that it is not a city car) but not a ZXR or YZF style tracker. With more than 260 kg and a geometry far from radical, it will rather play in the category of pleasant sports, comfortable but not intended to explode the clock. It also lacks a little ground clearance on the track. Agile without being ultra-sharp, precise and stable, the machine handles smoothly and rewards you with pleasant ease. It only moderately appreciates being jostled between the vibrators, so it is better to drive it smoothly while taking advantage of its charm. No violence with her, just passion.
The Daytona is a very beautiful bike, which we will treat ourselves for its beauty, the character of its mechanics and its right balance combining sport and comfort – and not for hitting Replicas on the track. It is also more versatile but is not cheap. The price for a different ride with a (very) beautiful lady.
