Possible loss of cooling water

The brand new Triumph Speed Twin can inadvertently leak coolant. In Germany, however, almost all affected models have already been checked.

Triumph calls the whole new one S.peed Twin back in the workshops in 2019. A cooling water overflow line that is not properly laid in the area of the right footrest can come into contact with the exhaust and become leaky.

In the worst case, cooling water can escape and get in front of the rear wheel. The problem was discovered during internal quality controls.

When visiting the workshop, this line is checked, relocated and replaced if necessary. Triumph sets aside between 2 and 30 minutes for this. In Germany, this recall affects 145 models. According to information from Triumph Germany, almost all motorcycles have been checked or converted by the dealers before they are delivered to the customer. The owners of the few machines that have not yet been checked will be contacted via the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) this week.
