The naked British woman has been raging through the motorcycle scene with great success for over 20 years. From 2005 she grew up halfway with 1050 cm³ and slightly better manners. And this is exactly what Triumph Speed Triple is all about.

The triumph Speed triple never followed a trend, she – always made one. That was already the case in 1994 with the very first 885 carburettor model (type T300B), which confidently passes as the first cafe racer of the modern era. And that was no different with the radical change of image to the hooligan bike in 1997 (type T509). With the 2002 facelift, Triumph, in the opinion of many fans, watered down the bad boy image a little, but with the third generation presented in 2005 (type 515NJ) everything was good again. Instead of larger pistons, the already famous triple got an extended stroke and thus 1050 cm³, which provided even more pressure in the middle.

A complete checkbook is particularly valuable with the Triumph Speed Triple, because some repairs were carried out “on the side” as part of the regular inspections. The Triumph Speed Triple is very price stable as a used vehicle. And the noticeable drop in demand for new machines over the past two years has not changed that. If you want a 1050, you have to search hard to find it under 5000 euros. From abroad (especially from Italy, from time to time also from England) a few supposed bargains make it into the German online offer, but the procurement effort and residual risk (keyword improvement measures / recalls) are not always in a healthy proportion to savings. The three model years in which major model maintenance measures were due (2005, 2008 and 2011) also mark the limits for larger price jumps – with overlaps due to particularly low mileage, for example.
Basically, Triumph Speed Triple pilots tend to drive a lot and are loyal to the workshop. Which may explain why many used machines of the first 1050 series are still waiting at dealerships for new owners, who usually have no problems offering a used motorcycle guarantee for machines up to ten years old. Regardless of whether it is from a private or a dealer: practically no used Speedy is still in its original condition. The rear, exhaust, indicators are the minimum conversion program, but often much more is possible.
