This weekend at the Nurburgring, Kawasaki again risks making up the figures … But on the sidelines of the competition, the Greens present their future bomb, the Ninja ZX-10R 2011 version, supposed to revive the Akashi firm in the race…
Two months after lifting the veil on its next racing beast (read), Kawasaki puts the cover back by presenting us its almost final version, which will participate in the World Superbike next year !
Naturally all dressed in green, the next Ninja looks great and intends to restore Akashi’s image from 2011 in WSBK: "the presentation of this new Ninja ZX-10R marks a new start for Kawasaki in the World Superbike Championship", reaffirm the brand managers.
In order to put all the chances on its side, Kawasaki has therefore planned to invest more in the Superbike program: "from 2011, the Kawasaki team engaged in the World Superbike will benefit from ever greater and more direct support from the part of the parent company in Japan ".
In fact since 2009 (the year of its retirement from MotoGP, read), the Kawasaki Racing Superbike Team "has undergone constant evolution and restructuring in order to be able to fully exploit the potential of the new motorcycle. next season ", say the Japanese.
Taking the exact opposite of Ducati (read in particular), but also of Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha who focus on the MotoGP world championship (with prototypes), Kawasaki prefers to play the Superbike card with motorcycles from the series. "The regulations of the championship mean in fact that from the start of the project, the path followed was that of the development of a production machine which could also be found at all the dealers of the brand", recalls the manufacturer..
Nevertheless, "the base motorcycles of the team will be authentic factory machines, designed, built and entrusted to the team by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) in Japan", specify the Greens. !
But it is in this state of mind that Aprilia and BMW entered the category last year … Since then, the Italians of Noale have collected victories and are likely to be titled in 2010, while the Germans have set in minds new benchmarks in terms of power and piloting aids.
In the end, the hard work of these two European manufacturers allows them to rub shoulders – or even to dominate – on the road as on the track a competition which is however very experienced. Will the next Kawasaki ZX-10R imitate the Superstock 1000 champion BMW S1000RR and the future SBK champion Aprilia RSV4? Answer next year on Site !
