Leon Haslam got off to a better start than in the first heat and beat Jonathan Rea, Chaz Davies, Tom Sykes, Niccolo Canepa, Leon Camier, Michael van den Mark, Sylvain Guintoli, Ayrton Badovini, Luca Scassa, etc. Davies jumped to second place on lap 1, followed by the two factory Kawasaki and Canepa’s private Ducati.

In front, the gaps between the three leading men gradually increased: Rea started the 18th lap 1.6 seconds ahead of Davies, and 4.1 seconds over Sykes. There are only four laps left to go and "JR" turns a little faster than his two pursuers..

Relegated to 26 seconds behind the probable winner, Jordi Torres and Luca Scassa – replacing Giugliano – are fighting for eighth place. The owner of the Aprilia Red Devils team takes the ascendancy over the freelance Ducati in the 20th lap by setting his personal best time.

Alone in the lead, Jonathan Rea gradually gave up the gas and passed under the checkered flag with a short lead over Chaz Davies. Tom Sykes is on the podium again, but on the third step this time, and behind his great rival in the championship !
