CCM Motorcycles expands model range
British street and dirt track singles

CCM, Clews Competition Machines, have been building machines for motocross, flat-track, trial, supermoto and road racing since 1971. In 2021, two new models will come to mark the anniversary.

  • With Euro 5 to Germany?
  • Conclusion

The British manufacture expanded by two to a total of nine different models CCM his portfolio. The Street Moto and Street Tracker variants are new to the lineup. Like all current CCM machines, the two latest are based on the 600cc single cylinder from Husqvarna with 55 HP and 58 Nm. The single sits in a tubular steel frame with a swing arm of the same design. The models differ in terms of chassis, body and wheel dimensions.

CCM Street Moto

CCM builds the Street Moto with an adjustable USD fork, the 17-inch wheels are soled with Avon rubbers. Two brake discs and radial Brembo calipers provide deceleration in the front, while a single disc works at the rear. A combination of Magura pump and Oberon cylinder act hydraulically on the clutch. Thanks to a complete body made of carbon and a titanium exhaust system, the weight sinks to a slim 145 kilograms, the price rises accordingly to the equivalent of a good 12,800 euros. The CCM Street Moto is limited to 250 pieces.

CCM Street Tracker

The Street Tracker variant is also limited to 250 pieces. It differs from the otherwise almost identical Street Moto in that it uses 19-inch wheels with slanted, studded Maxxis tires and does without one of the two front brake discs. Price and weight correspond to the Street Moto.

With Euro 5 to Germany?

CCM has been announcing for years that it wants to enter markets outside the UK. But even with the new models, Euro 5 is a long way off. If only because of the lack of ABS. With a good 1,000 motorcycles a year, the subject of small series is probably off the table.

Conclusion

Sporty single-cylinder for the road are an endangered species. CCM tries to contribute to the protection of species. The new Street Moto and Street Tracker models appear to be of high quality and the old 600 Husky single has had a lot of fun since the beginning. With a carbon body and high-quality add-on parts for 12,800 euros at a premium price. It is not known how and whether the CCM machines will come to Germany; from a purely legal point of view, the lack of ABS will be an exclusion criterion.
