Yamaha XJR 1300 RACER 2015

With its askance and its submission to a preparation of the most remarkable, the concept “Red Water” had caused astonishment in the community. How could an XJR 1300 get so full bodied? From there to transposing this singularity to the series, there was a leap to be made… That Yamaha is drafting with this XJR 1300 Racer. Yard Built philosophy overflows its creativity on the evolutions of the Iwata brand.

How many years has the XJR represented the archetype of the old-fashioned big roadster, the wise and powerful big cat with its contemplative 4-cylinder crackling? No matter. He bristles in 2015, and gets nervous in his Racer phase. The machine smacks of the underground workshop, the chills of the night and the challenges of black jackets. Neither Hallyday nor Offspring; rather Beatles revisited by an obscure and fervent metal band.

This XJR Racer benefits from the my15 improvements and “radicalizations” of the eponymous roadster. Then, to make a machine with character, we dip it in the cafe-racer sauce. It boils, it takes shape, and it becomes endocrine with carbon. The result is there, villainous and sporty. The simple addition of a carbon fiber fork crown, with a much more refined style than a simple nose screen, sets the tone. As it should be, the handlebars are abandoned in favor of handlebars-bracelets, cut in the mass; the pilot will be more compacted on the front. The spirit of the ride will slip away to pave the way for an adrenaline distillation.
Yes, good, easy anyway. We are not at all on an R6. Let’s not be wrong, it’s all in the style and the spirit. The perforated single-seater saddle, fitted with topstitching and finished with a carbon cover, is also proof of this. A small additional layer for the front fender, held by aluminum plates.

As on the standard XJR 1300, we find these flattering little extras, like the aluminum side plates, Ohlins shock absorbers, red painted spark plug caps, and that big air-cooled 4-leg. Given for 98 horsepower, it takes place in a most classic frame, with a double tubular steel cradle structure. The 240 kilos (approximately) of the XJR will calm the excited of the bleeding attacks.
Like any style machine, the XJR 1300 Racer is only adorned with all its presence with catalog options. From the most essential to the most anecdotal, let us quote the Akrapovic exhaust, the retro kit at the end of the handlebars, some Rizoma parts, the LED indicators, the sport screen, etc….
