Symbolizing Yamaha’s return to the rally-raid road fantasy, the 1200 Super Tenere unashamedly displays its ambitions in the strategic maxi-trails market. A hint of nostalgia in the surname, a nice dose of twin cylinder where the engine knows how to be available and torquey but not sufficiently demonstrative, comfort, and a fairly extensive technological distribution; even more in version E. A letter to signify that the machine is equipped with electronic suspensions, coming from the FJR 1300 and offering many adjustments. 84 possible combinations for custom amortization.

What more can the Worldcrosser version bring? Some equipment to protect strategic parts of the Super-T. First of all a series of carbon parts: the fairing sidewalls, fork guards, and frame covers to prevent wear on the boots. A few self-adhesive strips adorn the tank. Aluminum is requisitioned for black anodized parts to secure the cardan shaft and the rear brake caliper. An engine guard protects the parallel twin from stumps, stones and other inhabitants of the paths. A graphics kit completes the endowment. And yet … it would be nice if the Worldcrosser kit also contains the elements of the photo, namely the all-terrain tires, the Akra exhaust and the small fog lights.

Remember that the XTZE is equipped as standard with the aforementioned piloted suspensions, coupled braking and deactivatable ABS, 3-level traction control, cruise control, a choice of 2 injection maps (Touring or Sport), an adjustable saddle and windshield, spoke rims, a center stand, heated grips and a few goodies.

This WorldCrosser leaves the Yamaha catalog in mid-2016.
