Ready for the racetrack in Suzuka look

Yamaha celebrates its 20th anniversary with a “Track Ready” – YZF-R1 in GYTR specification and in a victorious Suzuka 8 hour paint job. There will be only 20 of the special model at a price of 39,500 euros.

2018 celebrates the Yamaha YZF-R1 celebrates its 20th anniversary. To celebrate this anniversary, three Yamaha teams started the legendary Suzuka 8-hour race on YZF-R1 racing motorcycles in the classic red and white paintwork of the original YZF-R1 from 1998. One of them took the win.

For the racetrack only

To mark this success, Yamaha is launching a limited edition 2019 YZF-R1 GYTR. In addition to the paintwork of the victorious Suzuka 8-hour racers, this special model offers a wide range of GYTR (Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing) performance parts and other performance parts as standard equipment. The YZF-R1 GYTR is intended exclusively for use on racetracks.

The GYTR parts include a racing harness, another ECU, the CCU, and a quick throttle. In addition, this exclusive racer is also delivered with a powerful Ohlins FGRT 219 telescopic fork, a TTX36 GP shock absorber and a fully adjustable steering damper as well as a complete titanium Akrapovič Evolution 2 exhaust system. And to provide all-round protection for the bike, there are protectors for crankcases and wheel axles from Gilles Tooling. The racing fairing is molded from carbon. There are also non-Yamaha racing parts.

Only 20 copies will be built

Each special model is checked on an engine test bench after assembly. In addition, a tailor-made chassis setup is carried out for the buyer. A total of only 20 copies are issued (which are supposedly all reserved). The motorcycles will be offered at a price of 39,500 euros plus additional costs and will be delivered in March 2019. Prospective buyers can register for the special model with immediate effect. The YZF-R1 GYTR is designed exclusively for the racetrack and is therefore not street legal.

The motorcycle comes with a certificate of authenticity plus an engraved serial number on the upper triple clamp. All buyers will also be invited to an exclusive set-up appointment in spring / summer 2019. There is also an invitation to a long-distance or superbike race with VIP support
