“Today’s race was amazing and I’m so happy I won it! I was ready for the Flag to Flag race so I was a little disgusted when the red flag came out because I was I was already 2 seconds ahead! I managed to keep my cool and when the race started again I tried to do the same, which was to attack a lot at the start and then try to manage the tire. was a little worried as I hadn’t managed to do a lot of long rides this weekend so I wasn’t sure how the tire held up but I was delighted to win the race! This weekend has was amazing for me. I won the last pole position race of 2017 in Qatar so starting 2018 the same way is great. I can’t wait to go to Thailand although it might be more difficult for the bike, because it is very hot there. Last year I had to give up the race, but I am now very relaxed and confident because the bike is good. Let’s feel no stress in the team. I’m very excited for the second round! "

Randy Krummenacher (Yamaha n ° 21), 2nd:

"I’m really happy with the result of this first race. It was my first on the Yamaha, with the team too, and we needed to gain experience. Despite that, we have proven ourselves and we have seeing as we are very competitive. I’m sure in a full race I could have done even better even though Mahias was very strong and consistent. But we were forced to stop on lap 4 due to the red flag and after the quick restart, the race lasted only nine laps. Nine laps which nevertheless allowed me to gain some positions and cross the line in second. I’m happy and looking forward to the next race, in a month in Buriram. I would like to thank my family and the whole team for giving me this opportunity, for allowing me to achieve this result ".

Sandro Cortese (Yamaha n ° 11), 3rd:

"I’m very happy with my first race in Supersport and to be on the podium immediately. It was a good week, we had good tests and strong qualifying, although we were unlucky with yesterday’s penalty (down three places on the grid for irresponsible driving at the end of the Superpole, Editor’s note). I took two disastrous starts today. I have to train on that! But overall it was a perfect race. I’m very happy to have such a good pace and to have set the lap record in the race. I’m enjoying every lap right now, the bike and the team. I really enjoy it. ‘Being in the Kallio Racing team are good people. It’s good to relive some highlights. I had a difficult season last year but I feel good again, relaxed and strong. can’t wait to go to Thailand! "

Federico Caricasulo (Yamaha n ° 64), 4th:

"Today’s race was not easy! I had a great first start, but the red flag forced me to do it again. I had a good second start and I thought I could fight for the victory. After four laps unfortunately, I started to have a slight problem with my rear tire, which prevented me from fighting in the front lines. Despite this, I managed to fight to the end and even though i’m disappointed to miss the podium, i’m happy because my team worked really well, as always, and i’m sure we will be back on the podium in thailand! "

Jules Cluzel (Yamaha n ° 16), 7th:

"Seventh place is surely not the expected result but I am positive and already looking forward to being in Thailand. I have a great team who will do everything to put things back in order"

Kenan Sofuoglu (Kawasaki n ° 54), 13th:

"This weekend was very difficult. Before the Superpole, a tire problem caused a very big crash which caused a lot of damage to my body. I still wanted to fight today but during the race I I understood that the level was high and that the pace was very fast, faster than in Superpole. I attacked very hard but four or five laps from the end, the bike started to vibrate. So I had to slow down and lose positions. After my crash on Saturday, I had no physical problems in the race ".

Mike di Meglio (Yamaha n ° 94), 17th:

"It was a difficult race, where the straights were long. We have to win at high revs, in order to overtake the other bikes in the aspiration. However, I am really happy with the chassis of the Yamaha R6".
