New 2019 Honda: the Super Cub C125 on the way…
After the Monkey 2018, Honda presents the new 2019 version of its best-selling model in the world: the Super Cub, which has sold more than 100 million copies to date! French dealerships are preparing to welcome the 125 cc version… Presentation.
The Super Cub is an institution within the Honda group, just like the Civic (car), Asimo (robot) or the HA-420 (plane). Better still, this is its biggest and longest commercial success: launched ten years after the founding of the company – in 1958 therefore -, the machine reached last fall the staggering total of 100 million copies produced. !
Extremely popular in Japan, then throughout Asia and as far as the Americas (North first, then South), the Super Cub had less resounding success in Europe where automatic scooters with smaller wheels – d ‘ Italian, French … or Japanese origin! – hold the upper hand.

For 2019 however, the "top" Honda model is preparing to reinvest France in a version more muscular than the traditional 50 or 110 cc: the C125, whose single cylinder shares the same ratings as the engine of the new Monkey, but is a hint more powerful and a little less torquey (see the technical sheet below).
"Its centrifugal automatic clutch has also been revised in order to respond to the increase in performance while offering particularly smooth and silent gear changes (four in all, editor’s note)", underlines the Tokyo firm to the attention of demanding users Europeans.
Scrupulously preserved, the frame structure (open in pressed steel) has been "precisely calculated around the steering column as well as at the level of the engine mounts in order to take advantage of the extra performance offered by the larger engine. In addition, the handlebars and saddle are now installed on silent blocks, as are the footrests. That is the demand of the people ?
Efficient and comfortable, a scooter must also be accessible: with a saddle placed 780 mm from the ground and a full weight limited to 109 kg, the Super Cub certainly is. It also provides "economy" with an average consumption estimated at 1.49 l / 100 km, or 245 km without going to the pump to fill the small tank of 3.7 liters !
In accordance with the regulations in force in Europe, an ABS watches over the front wheel and its disc brake (rear drum). The 17-inch rims are spoke, not spoke. But there is even more modern on the new Super Cub: LED lighting and contactless start are part of the original equipment.
"As a nod to the ancestors of the Super Cub, the Smart Key keyring is adorned with the historic" Old Wing "logo in three dimensions", indicates the winged crest which will offer its machine in France in two colors: the very " historic "blue and white, or red more" corporate ".
We will have to wait a bit to know the price and the release date of this Honda “novelty 2019”. In the meantime, if the machine and its phenomenal success intrigue you, MNC advises you to visit the official "Honda Worldwide" website which traces one of its "best-seller ever". In English only yes, unfortunately.
