Despite a slight deterioration in the weather shortly before dawn, the lead of the race remained dominated by the Suzuki n ° 2 which gradually increased its lead over the Honda n ° 55. But the Suzuki n ° 1 remains in ambush in front of the Yamaha n ° 94…

Despite a slight deterioration in the weather at 6:15 am, with a few droplets appearing on the visors and the presentation of the "rain" sign to the pilots, the race remained dominated by the Suzuki n ° 2 which gradually increased its lead over the Honda n ° 55 in second place.

The Suzuki n ° 1 in third position is also slowly but surely coming back up on the Honda, while the Yamaha of GMT 94 is still fourth four laps behind the n ° 1.

The Suzuki n ° 144 of Village Motos gives up on a valve breakage … Sad end, especially as it is also synonymous with withdrawal from competition for one of its riders, Gerard Jolivet: at 47 years old, this Nantes resident has been participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 1982 and is retiring by closing his sports career with this 29th edition.

The n ° 55 Honda of National Motos valiantly withstands the assaults of the n ° 1 Suzuki, which does not release the pressure to take away its beautiful second place … "So far, everything is going well", discreetly rejoices Bernard Rigoni, head of competition at Honda France."But it is not finished !", he immediately adds carefully:"on a regular basis, we will not be able to catch up with the 2, but a lot can still happen"…

Even if nothing is ever played in endurance before the checkered flag, we do not however see what could prevent the machine n ° 2 of the SERT from seizing the victory, so much its pilots (William Costes, Julien Da Costa and Guillaume Dietrich) are fast and consistent with seven laps ahead of the No.55 Honda. No.94 Yamaha four laps from third fails to improve fourth place, eight laps ahead of No.8 Kawasaki.

As for the Superstocks, the Suzuki n ° 72 of the Junior Team climbed to 6th place overall, 11 seconds behind fifth, the Kawasaki n ° 8 of Bollinger. It now runs three laps in front of the # 83 Kawasaki from Maccio Racing, still second in the category.

In Superproduction, it is the Suzuki n ° 10 of Infini Team which is placed, despite some uncertainties, at the head of the category by being inserted between the first two Superstocks in 7th place scratch.

At the same time as the day which dawns on the circuit, a very light rain makes its appearance. If it does not seem to threaten the grip of the track for the moment, the team managers are on the lookout for the choice of tires….

At 7.40 am, the Grolandais knight himself sets off for a new stint on the handlebars of the Yamaha n ° 33 of Decibels Endurance…
