In the absence of the Belgian Steve Ramon (2011 winner), Jean-Claude Mousse legitimately endorsed the status of favorite for this 2012 edition of the famous Enduro du Touquet, renamed "Enduropale du Touquet" in 2005. The Frenchman had speed on his side, preparation and experience: at 41, the Yamaha rider already has two victories at Le Touquet (1999 and 2004).

Solid as a rock, Mousse did not shake and took the lead in the fourth lap, following the fall of Adrian Van Beveren and Nicolas Aubin running out of fuel. The Yamaha rider then prints his rhythm and seems to be heading for an unchallenged victory when he is struck 30 minutes from the end by one of the 1075 competitors present at the start. !

Unscathed, Jean-Claude Mousse set off again immediately and crossed the finish line as a winner on his YZ450F, ahead of young hopeful Tanel Leok (Suzuki) and Milko Potisek (Honda). For Jean-Claude Mousse, this new victory at Le Touquet also rhymes with a second title of champion of France of the Sands thanks to his three successes and his two second places this season..

"It was a tough Touquet with very difficult conditions," said the winner: "the last lap was hell, but I knew I had the speed. I had a little pressure as a favorite. All the victories are good, but winning today was exceptional. I fell hard enough but it ended well and that’s what matters ".

Adrien Van Beveren finished in 4th place ahead of Belgian Manuel Priem Thomas Allier and Rudy Vergrete, which places five Yamaha in the top 7 !

On the podium at the finish, the young Nico Aubin was finally downgraded to 14th position following the "outside help" he received to return to the pits after running out of gas. A hard blow for the Honda rider who had an excellent race…

Enduropal Youth and Quaduro

Contested on Saturday at -8 ° C, the event reserved for young drivers (Enduropale Jeunes) and the quads race (Quaduro) were won respectively by Julien Lieber (KTM) and Jeremie Warnia (Can Am).

MX2 rider and favorite of the Enduropale Jeunes, Luxembourgish Julien Lieber did not disappoint his fans by signing a great victory ahead of Tommy Alba (Kawasaki) and Camille Chapelière (Kawasaki).

Dominator too, Warnia did not make a quarter and won for the third consecutive time in Quaduro ahead of Romain Couprie (Yamaha) and Matthieu Ternynck (Yamaha).
