The 374 cm³ single cylinder is provided with a secondary air system that brings the catalytic converter up to operating temperature more quickly and thus optimizes the emission values. A new control unit also ensures that there is no loss of performance. The power and torque of the 374 cm³ single with overhead camshaft remain unchanged at 21 hp at 5,500 rpm and 29 Nm at 4,500 rpm.

From the very beginning, the Benelli Imperiale 400 was used as a design template for the 124er of the same name from the 1950s, which was then built by the Benelli offshoot MotoBi. But that doesn’t mean that the retro bike doesn’t get a little design freshening up. From the 2021 model year, the Imperial will roll out with a large, three-dimensional logo on the side of the tank. In addition, the tank protection pads have been slightly modified – they now have a diamond-shaped pattern, and the Imperiale lettering below the driver’s seat has been completely redesigned.

The first tires are Maxxis Promaxx, front 19-inch models 100/90, rear 18-inch models 130/80. This update does not change anything in terms of the frame, chassis and brakes. It remains with the double loop frame, telescopic fork, double shock absorber and 300 mm disc brake with 2-piston floating caliper at the front and a 240 mm disc at the rear.
