Bridgestone is expanding its tire portfolio for motorcycles in 2020 with the four new models Battlax Classic Racing CR11, Battlax BT46, Battlax Racing Street RS11 and Battlecross E50 Extreme.

the Bridgestone Battlax Classic Racing CR11 was, as the name suggests, specially developed for classic motorcycles that are driven on the racetrack. The new tire has already proven its properties at the FIM Europe Endurance Classic Cup (EEC). It was used by numerous teams at the four-hour Biker’s Classic in Spa-Francorchamps, including the winning team PoweRacing-JapAuto. The new classic tire was also convincing in wet conditions. The tire profile is based on that of the Battlax Raccing R11. The tire meets the regulations for the Maxi Classic of FIM Europe. The new Bridgestone Battlax Classic Racing CR11 will be available from March 2020 in sizes 110/80 R18 (front) and 150/65 R18 (rear). Bridgestone has not yet named a price.

The Bridgestone Battlax BT46 is the successor of the popular Battlax BT45, which is highly regarded in the classic segment. The previous model was launched on the market 22 years ago. Now the BT46 is to take over the legacy. Bridgestone has further developed and modernized the diagonal touring tire in some areas. Among other things, the new tire should feel better in terms of feedback and handling. Due to its advanced age, the BT45 has weakened in the last tests compared to the more recent competition in wet road conditions. The new BT46 should do much better in the wet. The Battlax BT46 is available in 21 sizes for the front axle and 27 sizes for the rear axle. It will initially be available in ten main sizes in January 2020.

The Bridgestone Battlax Racing Street RS11 is the successor to the RS10 and should score with better grip and more precise handling. Although the Racing Street RS11 is a tire that has its strengths on the racetrack, it is also suitable for the road. Bridgestone has given the RS11 a so-called V-MS Grutel construction, which is actually used in racing. In addition, some manufacturers such as Yamaha (YZF-R1 and YZF-R1M), Kawasaki (H2 and H2 Carbon) or Suzuki (GSX-R 1000 and GSX-R 1000 R) rely on the RS11 when it comes to series tires. In principle, the RS11 has taken over the profile of the R11 racing tire. The Racing Street RS11 should score particularly well in an inclined position. It will be available from March 2020 in the sizes 120/70 ZR17 M / C 58W (front) and 190/55 ZR17 M / C 75W and 200/55 ZR17 78W (rear).

The Battlecross E50 was already placed on the market in 2019. After its introduction, the enduro sports tire has already won several competitions. In order to further increase the success, Bridgestone has created a further developed successor for the coming year. The Battlecross E50 Extreme should be characterized by a softer mixture, better grip and higher traction. The new E50 Extreme will be available from January 2020 in size 140/80 -18 70M NHS for the rear axle.
Conclusion
Bridgestone 2020 is adding four new tires to its model portfolio. We are particularly excited about the Bridgestone Battlax BT46, which has a difficult legacy. In the first tests we are hoping for a lot from the new touring tire.
