At the end of the 1990s, the great era of the 750 Suzuki was over, and the switch from carburettor to electronic injection in 1998 did not bring the hoped-for second spring. Even when, after the turn of the millennium, the 750 with enormous 141 hp, a fabulous chassis and only a little over 190 kilos, the muscle-packed 900 and 1000 competition mercilessly dozed off on the circuit, sales were limited. In 2003, only a three-digit number went to the man. Main reason: Suzuki had ignited a blast with the brutal GSX-R 1000 in 2002, which apparently distracted from the great virtues of the 750s. Facelifts did little to help, it wasn’t until 2006 that Superbike fans rediscovered the model with the WVCF. The main reason now: Because the new 750 with its compact but slim appearance, the exhaust pipe nice and short and 150 hp was finally a real sex bomb again. And because racers were able to determine after a few laps at the latest: Damn it, something really works with that.

600s, although also charged with plenty of horsepower, are stressful when constantly turning the revs, while overpowering 1000s overwhelm hobby drivers. So the GSX-R 750 once again encountered a gap that it has filled since switching to injection: extremely attractively priced, first-class in terms of driving dynamics. A top sports motorcycle.

The 750 is a projectile – and such a projectile naturally hits somewhere. Mostly on the racetrack. Red alert for machines that have been moved for motorsport purposes, even if the seller stopped using it “just a few rounds of training” downplayed. Therefore, be careful with imported used vehicles (especially from England, Italy and Poland), where accident damage was sometimes concealed in a highly professional manner. Please also look for traces of a fall under the paneling (which could have been replaced a long time ago) on the frame. Smaller annoyances are jammed tank locks, worn tires or due wear parts such as brake pads, which should be taken into account when negotiating prices. High-quality optic tuning parts such as color-coordinated race discs, carbon parts, fine levers and notches as well as formerly expensive exhaust systems with street approval (more popular with type WVCF original system) are considered to be upgrading..

Market situation
Used buyers have it very easy, because the injection model 750 is available on the market in an enormous price range. With the last SRAD model (1998/1999), high-speed drivers with a limited budget and without sporting ambitions can find properly maintained pedestals for around 2000 euros (less than 2000 euros, more like craft boxes). Bargain hunters for new-value bikes are equally quick to shoot: Some dealers knock out unused current factory goods (from year of construction 2011) for as little as 9,000 euros. As a result, two to three-year-olds with only a few thousand kilometers on the clock hardly pay more than 7,500 euros. The extremely popular type WVCF (2006/2007) is comparatively expensive (rarely less than 5000 euros). For exemplary well-kept specimens with only one previous owner and a maximum of 15,000 kilometers, you should have around 6500 euros in your pocket during the price negotiations.
